Fotona Nightlase/ Snoring Treatment
THIS IS THE REALITY
Millions of people worldwide are suffering from snoring which prevents them from feeling rested in the morning and having a good night of sleep. On occasion, these people end up using a C-PAP machine for sleeping. Additionally, their partners find sleeping and resting comfortably during the night problematic, and some of them wake up in the middle of the night, unable to go back to sleep due to the noise. Snoring can create friction in the relationship, forcing couples to sleep in separate rooms.
WHAT IS SNORING?
Snoring can happen at any age. Multiple factors indicate the airway is blocked, preventing airflow through the nose and mouth during sleep. Most commonly, this is related to the upper airway and the soft palate, or it could be related to excess flabby tissues in the throat. The throat cavity narrowing causes a rattling sound known as snoring. Other reasons are obesity, blocked turbines, medication, sleeping position, allergies, etc.
WHAT IS FOTONA NIGHTLASE?
Fotona’s NightLase® therapy is a non-invasive laser treatment to improve the patient’s sleep quality. The purpose of the NightLase treatment is to increase the amplitude of the throat cavity, which decreases snoring, reduces the effects of sleep apnea, and improves sleep quality. The Fotona laser tightens certain
areas of the oral mucosa tissue caused by collagen contraction. It is simple, safe, and effective with little to no pain. The most common symptom patients experience is a minor heat sensation on the mucosa, which goes away when swallowing saliva.
At Itsy Aesthetic, we are very comfortable performing this procedure. Nightlase is a non-surgical procedure (no bleeding involve), and patients can continue their regular routine with no activity limitations. The procedure lasts about 45 minutes and requires no anesthesia or numbing to the area. Research has shown that NightLase reduces and attenuates snoring and provides an effective, non-invasive way to lessen the effects of sleep apnea.
WHEN SHOULD I START TO SEE RESULTS?
Results vary from patient to patient, so it is essential to identify the leading cause of the snoring. Every patient reacts differently; some may see the results immediately, while others may take longer.
